Folios 205-206: Jonathan Hayes, HMS Freya, Chatham. Acknowledging letter 5 September reply to his of 3rd about the 81th Regiments Officers expenses to Walcheren and bringing French prisoners back to Spithead reminding him HMS Achilles’s wardroom was paid one hundred and fifty pounds. There were thirty nine 81st Officers on board fourteen days and twenty six French prisoners for fifteen days equivalent to a single day’s rate of nine hundred and thirty six people. Says he and his officers are out of pocket by one hundred pounds.
