Folios 180-181: Sir Henry Hotham, HMS Defiance, Ferrol. Sends copy of dispatch to Admiral Gambier.
Folios 182-183: enclosed in folios 180-181. Captain Hotham, HMS Defiance, Ferrol, 26 August 1809. Admiral George Berkley C-in C Portugal orders ships to be taken to Cadiz. HMS Norge, Barfleur and Zealous to assist. HMS Triumph, Captain Samuel Hood arrived 25 August. Found enough Spanish seamen to man ships. Admiral Vargas paid 307 dollars brought 25,000 with him from Cadiz. Spanish ship Montanes arrived at Coruna from Cadiz with 300,000 dollars for army of Galicia and Asturias and 25,000 for arms for Ferrol and provisioning ships.
Folios 184-185: enclosed in folios 180-181. Captain Hotham, HMS Defiance, Ferrol, 26 August 1809. List of provisions suppled to Spanish ships and garrison by HMS Defiance, Norge and Barfleur.
Folios 186-187: enclosed in folios 180-181. Captain Hotham, 2 and 26 August 1809. Report of Spanish ships to be taken to Cadiz. Conception 120 guns, Princip de Asturias 120 guns, San Telino 74 guns, Santiago la America 64 guns, San Julian 64 guns, Diana 36 guns, Esmerelda frigates 36 guns sailed for Cadiz 22 August. Lavinia 40 guns, Magdalena 40 guns, Venganza 36 guns, Iphigenia 36 guns, Princip de Asturias and Indagadoia corvettes. Casilda 12 guns, Cazador and Deseubudor 14 gun brigs.
