Folios 153-154: Joshua Sydney Horton, Liverpool Regulating Captain. About John Dumaresq’s impressment by Lieutenant Evans 19 August. He produced certificate from Lieutenant Boswell and testimonies from Jersey who asked Messrs Hamilton and Merchants to buy a vessel with Dumaresq as Master. Was induced into taking a £100 bond in case his discharge was incorrect. Lieutenant Boswell said he left when he went into town. Notes Rendezvous books show Messrs Hamilton and Merchant have not found a substitute for Elias Randall since June 1808.
Folio 155: enclosed in folios 153-154. Lieutenant Walter Boswell, HMS Conquest gun boat. Certificate dated 11 July 1809 to confirm John Dumaresq served as HMS Conquest’s Second Master 21 May 1808 till the present.
