Folios 286-287: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Lieutenant Edward Claributt of HM Hired Tender Betsey Cains has reported that he is unable to take the vessel to sea because of an attack of opthalmia. He has appointed Lieutenant Henry Freeman Young Pogson to take temporary command and carry the newly-raised men to Plymouth.
