Folios 265-266: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captian, Liverpool. Reports that John Peters, said to be French, was impressed by Lieutenant James Rees on 11 July and then volunteered, Hew said he was born in America but had no protection, and arrived in the Ceres belonging to Mr Maury. There is no one on the books of the rendezvous called Patrick Haighen, but a man called Patrick Callaghan, a native of Newry, volunteered with Lieutenant Samuel Baly on 30 January. John Riddel was impressed by Lieutenant Thomas Evans on 28 July and said he was born in America, but Captain Horton's information is that his real name is John Dean and his sister lives at Bridgewater Street, Liverpool. Benjamin Carter was impressed on 7 July and claimed to be American, but the protection he produced did not match his description. He never claimed to be called James Fullerton.
