Folios 246-247: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reports that William Warrener, born in Liverpool, volunteered with Lieutenant Hyde John Clarke on 29 June and declared he was not an apprentice.
Folios 248-249: enclosed with folios 246-247. Letter from Thomas Atherton, tanner, Liverpool to the Admiralty, undated. Asks for the return of his apprentice William Warriner, who absconded from his employ and is now aboard HMS Princess. Encloses a affidavit.
Folios 250-251: enclosed with folios 248-249. Affidavit dated 24 July 1809 sworn by Thomas George Massey, attorney, Thomas Atherton and Jonathan Warriner, Liverpool, before Thomas Golightly. Thomas Massey prepared an indenture in March 1808 binding William Warriner, son of Jonathan, to Thomas Atherton for a term of five years. In June of this year William Warriner absconded and volunteered aboard HMS Princess. The indenture cannot be found.
