Folios 222-223: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reports he has asked attorney Mr Rowlinson of Matthew Street about William Davis, and it appears Davis applies to him to get his wages for service on HMS Goelan. Confirms the circumstances of Charles Estland [Charles Estlund] which the Admiralty have written to him about.
Folios 224-225: enclosure with folios 222-223. Petition dated 13 July 1809 by Charles Estlund, HMS Princess to the Admiralty. Seeks his discharge, both because he is a foreigner and because shortly after his wife Sarah Estlund petitioned for his release and was told it could be allowed if she could find two substitutes, she died leaving five small children. Endorsed by Minister John Pulford and Church Wardens Thomas Knowles and Thomas Ward Dennison of Liverpool.
Folio 226: enclosed with folios 222-223. Letter dated 13 July 1809 from Thomas Vaisey, 20 William Street, Liverpool to the Admiralty. Encloses a petition for their Lordships' consideration.
