Folio 195: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reports that Henry Hughes, born at Holiwell, volunteered with Lieutenant Samuel Baly on 11 February.

Folio 197: Enclosed with folio 195. Letter dated 8 July 1809 from Elizabeth Hughes, 3 Elm's Court, South Side, Old Dock, Liverpool to the Admiralty. Requests the release of her husband Henry Hughes if he can provide a substitute. They have five small children and he suffers from a scorbutic complaint, which prevents him continuing to serve on HMS Resolve.
