Folios 185-186: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Rendezvous, Liverpool. Describes how when David Dodge was impressed by Lieutenant Thomas Evans on 14 June he had no protection on him, but later produced an American protection certificate which appeared to have been altered. Daniel Dodge, the Master of the Susan, later called at Lieutenant Evans' rendezvous and the collusion was discovered. David Dodge subsequently managed to escape from the Press Room. Suggests that Daniel Dodge should be punished for furnishing a British subject with a false American protection.
