Folio 179: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Captain, Rendezvous, Liverpool. Reports that when HM Hired Tender Betsey Caines returned from Plymouth, Lieutenant Edward Clarributt applied for permission to refit the ship. Encloses his letter and a copy of the original request from Nathaniel F Carden, Master and contracting owner. Other vessels will need to be sent to Liverpool to carry men to Plymouth while the refit is going on.

Folio 181: Enclosed with folios 179. Copy of a letter dated 20 May 1809 from Nathaniel F Carden, Master and contracting owner, to Lieutenant Edward Clarributt, HM Hired Tender Betsey Caines. Requests the necessary time to make stated repairs to the ship.
Folio 181A: Attached to folio 181. Letter from Lieutenant Edward Clarributt, HM Hired Tender Betsey Caines, to Regulating Captain Joshua Sydney Horton, Liverpool. Encloses a copy of a letter from the owner, Nathaniel F Carden, and requests that his ship be docked for a refit.
