Folios 540-541: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Replying to the letter of 29 April. John Cuban, who said he was born in America, was pressed by Lieutenant Evans on 25 April as an Able Seaman. He produced a Protection for John Thompson, but when he was informed that information suggested that he was married in October 1807 at St John Church in Liverpool, he confessed and acknowledged his real name. He returns the enclosure.
Folios 542-543: enclosure with folios 540-541. Petition dated 27 April 1809 from Martha Cubin, 81 Johnson Street, Liverpool, to The Admiralty for the release of John Cubin. He has a wife, 4 children, and a helpless mother dependent on him. Requests his discharge on the production of substitutes.
