Folios 352-353: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Responding to the letter of 6 March. John Scott, born in Lancashire, was pressed by Lieutenant Evans on 14 January as an Able Seaman. He said he was discharged from HMS Recruit about 10 weeks ago but had no documents. The Surgeon has reported him fit to serve. Joseph Mont, alias Morn, born in Gibraltar, was pressed by Lieutenant Rees on 30 December. This man's case was fully stated in his letter of 9 January and the response ordered him to be discharged on receipt of 2 able-bodied Landsmen as substitutes. That letter was sent to HMS Princess. The present application therefore appears to apply to HMS Princess. Abraham Martinborough, born in Jamaica, was pressed by Lieutenant Rees on 15 September as an Ordinary Seaman. He said he came to Liverpool in the Ceres, Captain Molyneux. Thomas Tinnion, born in Workington, was pressed by Lieutenant Evans on 25 February as an Able seaman, He said he was Mate of the Three Sisters of Workington. He was taken on shore. Henry Woolsoncroft, born in Manchester, entered with Lieutenant Baly on 7 September 1808 as a Boy Volunteer. He was not pressed, as stated in the application. He returns the enclosures. Also reports that HMS Piercer arrived on 5 March and sailed this morning with 40 supernumeraries on board.

Folio 356: enclosure with folios 352-353. Letter dated 4 March 1809 from Mary Scott, 15 Liver Street, Liverpool, to The Admiralty. Her husband, John Scott, lately a Seaman on HMS recruit, was discharged from there on account of his large family. He arrived in Liverpool but was pressed after 5 days and is on board HMS Princess. Requests his discharge in exchange for a substitute.
Folio 357: enclosure with folios 352-353. Letter dated 4 March 1809 from Ann Mayson, 12 Crosluc Street, Liverpool, to The Admiralty. Request for the discharge of Joseph Mont, a tailor. in exchange for substitutes.
Folios 358-359: enclosure with folios 352-353. Letter dated 4 March 1809 from Abraham Martinborough, on board HMS Princess, Liverpool, to The Admiralty. He is a native of Jamaica, whose only time at sea was on his passage to England. His wife and 3 children are now living in Liverpool. Requests his discharge in exchange for a Landsman substitute.

His family are in great distress: his wife lost her father and brother in the recent gales, and there are 7 children to support. Requests his discharge without providing substitutes. The reply should be addressed to Mrs Isabella Tinnion, 40 Lacys Street, Liverpool.
Folios 362-363: enclosure with folios 352-353. Letter dated 3 March 1809 from Henry Wolsoncroft, on board HMS Princess, Liverpool, to The Admiralty. He is needed to support his mother and 5 young sisters, and requests his discharge in exchange for a substitute.
