Folios 135-136: Joshua Sydney Horton, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Responding to the letter of 19 January about Thomas Trilly, Charles Martinbury and William Cotton. It appears they have been rejected after examination at Plymouth. They were all perfectly fit and passed as suitable for service when regulated by Captain Horton and the Surgeon at the Rendezvous. Reference to Mr Dalloway's medical books shows that none of the three men made any complaint, or application for advice or medicines. Martinbury and Cotton had no eruption or ulcer on their legs when regulated and Trilly never attempted to appear either deaf or dumb at the Rendezvous. Enquiry to Lieutenant Brady and the Clerk of HMS Princess has revealed he never missed his muster, but in common with the others some time has elapsed since they were examined on HMS Princess. Further comments about the tenders.
