Folios 197-198: Sydney Horton, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Manuel Anthony Mate, was issued a fake protection by the notorious crimp, who resides in the Customs House, Antonio Rinmar. He was impressed from the Ceres, Harris, Lewis and speaks Portuguese very badly. He speaks French so Horton thinks he was born in Jersey. He hopes the Admiralty will prosecute these crimps.
Folio 199: enclosure with folios 197-198. Thomas Golightly, Justice of the Peace. Printed protection to say that Anthony Rinmar swears that Manuel Anthony is known to him as a native of Madera, a Portuguese island.
