Folios 236-237: enclosure with folios 234-235. Journal of Edward Hawkins, Superintendant of Prisons and Prison ships in Plymouth 27 June-2 July 1808. This his first week in post. Recounts presenting himself to Admiral Young on his appointment to the Superintendancy, visit to Mill Prison and Prison hospital , visiting the Dockyard, inquiry into why prisoners were not being paid for picking oakum.
