Folios 545-547: Joshua Sydney Horton, HMS Princess of Orange, Chatham. Encloses a sketch of part of the Quarterdeck of his ship and argues for the modifications which he thinks should be made to it. Considers the Master Shipwright at Portsmouth was remiss in not making the modifications when he was making good the ship's defects. The Gangways either side of the Quarterdeck are also too narrow.
Folios 547-548: enclosed with folios 545-547. Letter from the Navy Office to Captain Joshua Sydney Horton, HMS Princess of Orange, Chatham, 2 July 1806. Acknowledge his letter but they do not think it proper to lengthen the Quarterdeck, and the Master Builder at Chatham was right to refuse to do so without an order from them.
Folio 548: enclosed with folios 545-547. Joshua Sydney Horton, HMS Princess of Orange. Sketch of the modifications he proposes to the ship's Quarterdeck.
