Folios 543-544: Joshua Sydney Horton, HMS Princess of Orange, Chatham. Reports that Lieutenants Sylvester Austin and Henry Loney, who have both been appointed to his ship from HMS Swiftsure, have spent a long time abroad and wish time to settle their private affairs before joining. Asks that they each be given 14 days' leave. Postscript. He has discovered that Lieutenant Loney's business is in Plymouth, suggests three week leave might be more appropriate in his case.
