Folios 517-518: Henry Hope, HMS Espoir, Spithead. Encloses his commission as acting Commander of HMS Espoir.
Folios 519-520: enclosure with folios 517-518. Commission signed by Commodore Sir Home Popham, Commander in Chief, Cape of Good Hope, HMS Diadem, Table Bay, 13 January 1806 appointing Lieutenant Henry Hope as acting Commander of HMS L'Espoir to replace Commander Percy. Counter-signed by William Robertson on behalf of the Commodore.
