Folios 513-514: Henry Hope, HMS Espoir, Spithead. Reports his arrival from the Cape of Good Hope, encloses a copy of his orders from Commodore Sir Home Popham and [not present] a journal of his proceedings.
Folios 515-516: enclosed with folios 513-514. Copy of orders dated 13 January 1806 from Commodore Sir Home Popham, Commander in Chief, Cape of Good Hope, HMS Diadem, Table Bay, to Commander Henry Hope, HMS L'Espoir. He is ordered to receive on board Captain Downman and Colonel Baird carrying despatches reporting the capture of the Cape of Good Hope and carry them to Spithead, unless Captain Downman can get to London by landing at another port. Counter-signed by William Robertson on behalf of the Commodore.
Folio 516: enclosed with folios 513-514. A list of the ship's defects.
