Folios 609-610: Michael Halliday, Commander of the Sea Fencibles, Penzance. William Seymore, William Marks and William Allen were formerly in the Sea Fencibles. William Seymour was discharged in accordance with Admiralty general orders dated 6 September 1804. William Marks and William Allen are fishermen went to sea and on return volunteer corps to obtain protection. William Marks had run from HMS Caroline. A great proportion of Major Davis's corp consists of Men no better entitled to protection that these three men.
Folios 611-612: enclosure with folios 609-610 dated 5 July 1805 from Major John Davis, Commander, Mount's Bay Volunteer Artillery. William Seymour, William Marks and William Allen, were impressed by Captain Halliday commanding the Sea Fencibles and put on board HMS Gannet, Captain Bass commanding, now at Gwavas Lake. They are trained in the use of the batteries and he asks for their return.
