Folios 599-600: Lawrence William Halsted, HMS Namur, St Helens. Lieutenant John Thompson is onboard the French ship Formidable, at Plymouth, he having been in charge of her since she surrendered. Lieutenant Edward Libby, now the senior Lieutenant, suffers from ill health at sea. He would have asked for him to be invallided out but his illness does not apear in harbour. He asks for these vacancies to be filled before they proceed to sea. He recommends 2nd Lieutenant Benjamin Sproate for promotion to first Lieutenant. The last appointed Lieutenant Wiliam La Moat has not appeared but Lieutenant P.Soley has arrived on board.
