Folios 491-492: Richard Turner Hancock, HMS Plover, Plymouth. With permission, he granted Jenkins Cullen leave of absence to go to London to pass his examination as a Master. He has written that he has passed but that his health has prevneted him from returning. He believes that is an excuse and he asks for the Sea Fencibles or the Rendezvous at Folkestone where his family live, to seek him out as a desterer and return him to Plymouth. He was Mate of the Nile Lugger Privateer and was impressed along with the crew for improper conduct. He was recommended to him by HMS Salvador del Munde as someone fit to become Master.
