Folios 243-244: Andrew Pafford Hollis, HMS Thames, Longreach. Referring to a letter dated 29 December 1803 he mentions the appointment of the purser, boatswain and carpenter. These people were appointed on 18 July 1801 by Rear Admiral Sir James Saumarez for their good conduct in the action at Algeciras and on the 12 July following. He recommends them.
Folio 245: enclosure with folios 243-244. Letter dated 14 January 1803 by Thomas Nevill, HMS Caroline, Woolwich. Reports that he has examined Thomas Jerry, acting gunner of HMS Thames, and finds him qualified. He refers to an enclosed certificate [not present].
Folio 246: enclosure with folios 243-244. Order dated 10 July 1801 by Admiral James Saumarez, Rozier Bay, to Thomas Sampson appointing him carpenter of HMS Thames.
