Folios 589-590: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 1 November, says he finds John Hooley to be the apprentice mentioned in the indentures and has therefore discharged him.
Folios 591-592: enclosure with folios 589-590. Letter dated 30 October 1800 by Robert Blundell, of Rodney Street, Liverpool, saying John Hooley, aged 16, son of William Hooley, shoemaker, and his wife Mary, had been persuaded to enter for the Service but is now very unhappy about it. Also his actions have caused his parents much affliction and the boy has been apprenticed to his father for about two years as shown by the indentures enclosed [not now present].
