Folios 562-563: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query dated 18 October, says he has examined John Chaplain and finds him to be the apprentice for whom the indentures were executed, so he has been discharged as per their Lordships' orders.
Folios 564-565: enclosure with folios 562-563. Letter dated 16 October 1800 by Robert [Newell[?], Liverpool, saying he is sending the indentures [not now present] of his apprentice John Caplin [sic], belonging to the ship Mate [?], the property of Richard Mather, but recently impressed and now aboard the Actaeon.
