Folios 462-463: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 9 September, says he finds Joseph Williams and William Gaskill are both apprentices as stated and he has discharged them as directed.
Folios 464-465: enclosure with folios 462-463. Letter dated 7 September 1800 From Edward Grayson, St James's Street, Liverpool, sending indentures for the two young men [not now present], and saying they had entered for the Service without his consent or knowledge. He would suffer a considerable loss if they were allowed to stay in the Service and as he has between 30 and 40 other indentured servants it would set a bad example to them also. Therefore asks that they be discharged to him to serve out the remainder of their time.
