Folios 652-653: William Hope, HMS Kent, Sheerness Harbour. Regarding the carronades sent down to the Nore in 1798 after Kent was ready for sea and without any orders to receive them on board, Hope informs their Lordships that the channels on the kent have been much widened so that they could not now fire such carronades without setting fire to the rigging, and therefore suggests they be sent to another ship.
