Folios 615-616: Samuel Hood, HMS Zealous, Chatham. Regarding several seafaring men seen in Rochester who landed in Dover from Castels, who, together with some hundreds more, many of whom escaped being impressed, are now on their way to London and other sea ports; and as the Mayor of Rochester has not given his consent to back the impress warrants, he has allowed Hood to send officers to take up such men in the City, as the men might escape before he obtains orders from the Admiralty.
