Folios 252-253: John Hamstead, HMS Squirrel, Woolwich. Regarding the case of William Turnbull, said to be Chief Mate on the ship Brotherly Love.
Folios 254-254A: enclosure with folios 252-253. Letter dated 13 April 1800 by Lieutenant Cullis on HMS Squirrel, Woolwich to Hamstead stating, however, that Turnbull was not acting in this capacity, nor did he claim to be, at the point when he was freed from Brotherly Love.
Folios 255-256: enclosure with folios 252-253. Two sworn affidavits by William Stoddart of South Shields, Master of the ship Brotherly Love, stating that Turnbull was indeed Chief Mate at the time he was impressed.
