Folios 246-247: John Hamstead, HMS Squirrel, Woolwich. Regarding his idea that the Sqirrell should be fitted with 32-pounder Carronades on the main deck to make her a superior ship as well as improving her sailing, an idea he has discussed with Sir William Rule as HMS Champion was similarly equipped, so he requests that directions be given to this effect.
