Folios 223-224: Thomas Hamilton, Margate. Enclosing a letter from the Master of the brig HMS Union, James White, who was boarded by 2 French privateers off North Foreland and reported this to 4 Cutters (HMS Venus, Fox, Lady Duncan, Lord Nelson) on entering Margate Roads, but claims they took no notice; Hamilton however reports that his Signal Officer, Lieutenant Boyce, sent an express and immediately one or more Cutters sailed.
Folio 225: enclosure with folios 223-224. Letter dated 25 December 1800 by James White of the Brig Union Neutral Margate Roads explaining how his ship was boarded by two French privateers.
