Regarding a report by Captain Webley on the experiments using the perpetual log, suggesting that the irregularities in the results are due to the eddy water produced by the pipes being too close to the keel; and that a further tial using pipes made in london might make the results more exact (detailed statement of the perpetual log attached to HMS Savage and report of the other contrivance both present).
