Folios 568-569: Roddam Home, HMS Caesar, Hamoaze. Receipt of letter concerning the wages of Joseph Inch, late Caulker of HMS Monmouth, which he believes is a mistake as the enclosure contains a memorial regarding a bill for wages for Inch when he was impressed in HMS Africa on the Coast of America. He answered this memorial not long ago. Answers the memorial paragraph by paragraph. Lieutenant Tidy who impressed Joseph Inch at sea remembers the Master gave him a bill upon the owners in payment. It is unclear what happened to the bill and he himself never had it or knew the amount. Describes actions taken by the Purser in Halifax and other ports in America. The bill was sent to Boston by Foreman and Gresse Merchants in Halifax. He does not remember Inch calling on him prior to his leaving HMS Africa for his bill and he does not know what happened to it when it was returned from Boston.
