Folios 146-147: Charles Hamilton, HMS Melpomene, Yarmouth Roads. John Bradley, Boatswain, was sent to Portsmouth Hospital on 21 June [1799] . John Bunt, Boatswain of HMS Volcano has been acting in his place by order of 16 July [1799] from Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Pasley. On 7 August [1799] he received a letter from the Navy Board stating that a sum of £70 17s 8d should be charged against the wages of John Bradley for deficiencies of rope, and as John Bunt of HMS Volcano has conducted himself to his satisfaction asks for him to be granted a warrant for HMS Melpomene.
