Folios 130-131: Charles Hamilton, HMS Melpomene, at Sea. The weather prevented him from reconnoitring Brest until 13 [February 1799]. Gives his position relative to the Point of Cameret. Reports the vessels he has seen but concludes no men of war have sailed during the easterly winds. This agrees with the information given him by Sir Edward Pellew.
