Description

Folios 251-252: Askew Pafford Hollis, HMS Vindictive, Sheerness. Informing that Joseph Moxen & Thomas Potts entered on board HMS Chichester then under his Command in Woolwich on 14 November 1796 in lieu of William Barnard discharged as per Admiralty orders. They then absented themselves from HMS Chichester and were last on her Books 23 November 1796 leaving in his possession £15-12s-0d the remaining part of £24 which was paid to me for them by William Barnard and then in a draft of men from HMS Sandwich on 9 February 1797 one of the above men Joseph Moxen was in the draft and then appeared as a quota Man from the Parish of Barking, County of Essex what he saw by his Ticket he had received 5 Guineas in part of 18 agreed to be paid to him by the said parish.
