Folio 238: enclosure with folios 235-236. Letter dated 27 October 1797 by Rear Admiral Thomas Pringle, Commander in Chief, Cape of Good Hope, to Askew Pafford Hollis, HMS Chichester.Commission to take Command of HMS Vindictive.
Folios 239-240: enclosures with folios 235-236. Askew Pafford Hollis, HMS Temeraire, Cape of Good Hope. Dated 27 October 1797. States that as the Senior Master and Commander of this ship Admiral [Thomas] Pringle has offered him a Commission [?] as he does not wish [?] [Very faded ink - difficult to read].
