Folios 229-230: John Hill, London. States that he was 1st Lieutenant of HMS Minotaur in the late action with Rear Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson and he encloses [not present] his order from Captain [Thomas] Louis, to take Command of the French Ship L'Aquiton of 74 Guns and having brought her down the Mediterranean and into the River Tagus under Convoy of Sir James Samurez in HMS Orion, and being superceded by Captain [William] Bowen [HMS Aboukir] he was given to understand that he was not to return to his ship. He reports his arrival in England having come home a passenger in HMS Orion and await your Commands.
