Folios 173-174: Richard Hill, HMS Tromp, Dublin Bay. Report that since his last letter dated 18 June 1798, HMS Europa has returned to this Bay escorting the Yatch [Yacht] with the Marquis Cornwallis on board. He yesterday received a letter from His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant/Marquis Cornwallis's desire that one of the Men of War should escort the Dorset Yatch [Yacht] with Lord Camden on board to Parke Gate. HMS Europe will accompany her. He has also been requested to Convoy a vessel with Ordnance Stores from Dublin to Belfast, but finding that there was not above forty or fifty tons he thought it would be the most expeditious method to take them on board HMS Tromp especially as Captain Pakenham Master General of the Ordnance informed him that craft would be ready to take them from the ship on her arrival at Belfast. Covering letter for the enclosed weekly accounts for HMS Tromp and HMS Europa. He reports that Mr Stephens who was appointed Purser of HMS Tromp, absented himself on our arrival at Spithead from the Needles Passage and has not been heard from. He has tot taken up the Warrant as Purser and requests another be appointed.
