Folios 168-169: Richard Hill, HMS Tromp, Off the Old Head of Kinsale. Report that due to Contrary Winds he has been unable to get any further that the Old Head of Kinsale. He yesterday fell in with HMS Ramillies, HMS Ethalion and a Sloop of War. Covering note for the enclosed copy of a letter he sent to the Lord Lieutenant which he hopes they will approve of. He will send this together with the Lord Lieutenants Letter; inclosed to the Post Master of Kinsale by a fishing boat belonging to that Town. On his arrival in Dublin Bay for wherever I am ordered too, he will write again.
Folio 170: enclosure with folios 168-169. Letter dated 10 June 1798 by Richard Hill, HMS Tromp, Off the Old Head of Kinsale, to The Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. That following orders from the Admiralty, he is on his way to Dublin Bay in company with HMS Europa with men of the 100th Regiment consisting of 813 Officers and Men. [States his destination and his orders to disembark].
