Folios 127-128: William Heath, Regulating Officer, Londonderry. Report on the Arrivals and Departures from/to Lough Swilly on 22 August 1798 HMS Doris, HMS Melampus and (Prince of Wales Scottish Revenue ship) sailed form Lough Swilly for Carricfergus. on 24 August 1798 an express arrived from General Taylor that eighteen hundred men had landed at Killala from three French Frigates an express was immediately sent to Belfast to inform Lord Ranclagh. [Details of the situation mentions:- HMS Diana, HMS Cerberus, HMS Shannon, Lord Cavan ]. Enclosed the weekly return.
