Folios 125-126: John Baker Hay, HMS Sensible, Portsmouth. Having applied to Mr Greetham the Judge Advocate here requesting him to cause the production of HMS Blenheim's Log Book on the pending Court Martial on Lieutenant [Thomas] Jones and likewise the Log Book kept by the Master's Mate of HMS Sensible in the detained Dutch Ship Graaff Bernstorff, now in the possession of Lieutenant [Thomas] Jones, he has referred him to the Board of the Admiralty. Also he reports that there is no probability of being able to procure the evidence of Captain Pierepont and Mathew McDonald who are at Lisbon (and these principally necessary to prove the most material points of his letter relative to the loss of HMS Sensibles' men) if the attendance of Captain John Quinton Master of the Betsy could be procured, it might establish several necessary facts. Captain John Quinton resides No 6 Thomas Street, Horsly Down, Southwark.
