Folios 80-81: John Baker Hay, HMS Alliance, Woolwich. Requests that Alexander Achyndachy Carpenter of HMS Alliance be moved to a ship in ordinary. He has been in the service since 1755, was a Carpenter's Mate with Admiral Norris and he wished two more years so that he can be superannuated. Similarly Mr Bradley Gunner of HMS Alliance wished the same as he is extremely deaf. He has served forty three years, Twenty one as a Gunner. Mr Alexander Moffat Boatswain of HMS Alliance request to be superannuated due to his advanced age. States it was the intention of Sir Arthur Douglas to bring forward Mr Henly Carpenter's Mate of HMS Queen Charlotte, Philip Goring late of HMS Queen Charlotte but now on HMS Prince and John Calander Captain of the Forecastle of HMS Queen Charlotte. Requests to replace the three men requesting to leave HMS Alliance
