Folios 214-215: Lawrence William Halstead, HMS Phoenix, Plymouth Sound. Reports his arrival in company with the French Privateer Le Brave, carrying 18 guns and 160 men. She was captured on the night of 24 April after some resistance, during which a few of her men were killed and 14 wounded. HMS Phoenix received some trifling damage to sails and rigging but no casualties. Le Brave is a fine ship.
