Folios 206-207: Lawrence William Halstead, HMS Phoenix, Plymouth Sound. Reports that the state of the copper on his vessel makes her unfit for sailing. He requests that she is docked for cleaning. He is convinced that 1 or 2 English Merchant vessels which appeared to be in enemy hands escaped him some time ago because he was unable to keep up with them. He will give the refit his total attention, and gives an assurance that the vessel will not be detained any longer by being in port.
