Folios 174-175: Michael Halliday, HMS Woolwich, Spithead. Acknowledges the orders of 19 September to put himself under the command of Sir Richard Strachan of HMS Diamond, and to follow his orders. Asks permission to receive on a supernumerary list 15-20 men of the 81st Regiment, which is going to the Cape of Good Hope under Lieutenant Colonel Hamilton. This will strengthen the ship's company and the Colonel would find it helpful.
