Folios 249-250: David Hotchkis, HMS Puissant, Spithead. John Houghton was received from HMS Dover by order of Admiral Sir Peter Parker, being called a deserter from HMS Carnatic, and has been confirmed as a prisoner as a result. Although his intelect appears to be not perfectly sound, he has a certificate from Captain Faulkner of HMS Diana, and he is a good Seaman. Mr Hurry is sending a certificate to the Admiraly confirming Mr Houghton's condition since birth. His opinion is that he is worthy of leniency
