Folios 245-246: David Hotchkis, HMS Puissant, Spithead. He is sending a letter from E.C.Hurry, regarding John Houghton, a Prisoner on board HMS Puissant and asks for directions.
Folios 247-248: enclosure with folios 245-246 dated 28 Nov 1796 from Edmund Cobb Hurry, Yarmouth, to Captain David Hotchkis, HMS Puissant. John Houghton, who is a prisoner onboard HMS Puissant, as a deserter, is the son of one of his tenants. He has been known to be insane since his infancy due to a hole at the back of his skull. He asks for this to be taken into consideration and for him to be released.
