Folios 241-242: David Hotchkis, HMS Puissant, Spithead. He is sending copies of enrollment of 2 Men (not present). The originals have been lost and he asks for the copies to be attested by the Regulating Officer to enable them to be paid. He asks for them to be sent to Sir William Henry Douglas for signing. Thomas White, Landsman, has run from HMS Puissant. He may have gone to Whitchurch, an inland place where there is no Officer to send details to. He includes his description. He was born at Whitchurch, is 50 years of age, and was formerly an Excise Officer from which post he was discharged due to improper conduct. He asks for directions to enable him to be apprehended.
