Folios 221-222: George Hope, HMS Romulus, Naples. He has received an account of wages due to Men who entered more than 3 years ago. He states that it has been a great hardship to the Men who lost all their clothes when they were detained by the Masters of the ships from which they were taken, and being prevented from receiving their wages for such a long time, and now they are prevented from receiving the small share of the amount due to them from the Owners due to the carelessness of the Solicitor in presenting erroneous accounts to the Admiralty. He asks for the Admiralty to settle their accounts with the Owners as the Men are keen to received what the Owners allow rather than lose the whole.
Folio 223: Enclosure with folios 221-222 dated 13 February 1792, Signed by Margaret Dingwall (her mark), North Shields, witnessed by James Lyon. John Fenwick, £3 at six different times, by order of her brother Arthur Tate, of the Duke of Clarence, C.S. Fenwick, Master.
Folio 224: Enclosure with folios 221-222. Arthur Tate's account when on board the Duke of Clarence from 15 October 1792 to 20 July 1793. Note on reverse: the calculation of the wages due is incorrect, being nearly £3 short.
Folio 225: Enclosure with folios 221-222 dated 27 August 1794 from Hunter and Blanchard, Old City Chambers, to George Gostling regarding the wages of Charlie Anstey and Peter Dally, formerly of the ship Hunter. They are willing to pay the wages due but have not previously been applied to for the money. Note on reverse; Mr Gostling says the wages due are less than appears from the Owners' statement. Messrs Hunter and Blanchard say they have sent the account of the wages to the men but Mr Gostling forgot to send it to the Admiralty.
